- Sunday, May 4th was a cold and gusty day at Gransden Lodge but this didn`t dampen the enthusiasm to celebrate the 75th anniversary of one of the oldest club members – Slingsby T-21B, known to all as `Bluebell`.
Initially delivered to Cambridge University Gliding Club (now Cambridge Gliding Centre) in 1950, she performed as a primary training glider for many years with countless students learning to fly in her. Though now leading a more sedate life, she continues to bring smiles to the faces of all who have the opportunity to fly her in the Cambridgeshire skies.
After a busy day flying acquaintances from her past (as well as meeting a few new ones), she watched over her playmates of the day as they enjoyed a party that included a special anniversary cake.
Here`s to the next 75 years!
